PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear School Community,

The first three weeks have passed in this final term of the year. There are a few things I would like to share with you.

The Australian Mathematics Competition is for Australian students from year 3 up to year 12. Some of our students took the examination last term and the results have been out recently. I am pleased to inform you that Mamoon Ahmad (Grade 4) has been awarded with a Certificate of Distinction; Sibel Uguz (Grade 4), Mahdi Almousawy (Grade 5), Hyder Aletabi (Grade 5) and Raihaan Syed (Grade 5) have been awarded with a Certificate of Credit. I would like to congratulate our students and teachers for their success and hard work.

One of our secondary school teachers, Mrs. Sara Cartwright participated in a competition called Golden Apple which is a short video competition designed to promote critical thinking through classroom teaching practices. Teachers submit a short video of an engaging and entertaining segment of their lesson. Mrs. Cartwright’s lesson stood 3rd among many teachers from different schools. I want to congratulate Mrs. Sara Cartwright for this tremendous success and wish her continued success in her teaching career.

This term, we have started with a full range of sporting activities which the students benefit from greatly. Interschool Sports was held in the first week. We had our annual Sports Day on October 20th. I would like to thank all the participants, teachers and the volunteering parents for their support. During this term, we have also initiated a T-Ball tournament for Gr 4, 5 and 6 students and soccer for Foundation to Grade 3 students during lunch times. I am confident that these activities provide an opportunity for our students to show their talents and improve certain skills and values such as taking responsibility, working as a team and communication.

We had organised our annual Book Fair with Scholastic for two weeks ending today. The aim is to make the students read a variety of books of their choice. I would like to thank Mrs. Avut and Miss Height for their contribution to the book fair. I hope the students who purchased books are enjoying reading them.

Today is Australian Teachers’ Day. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank teachers at our campus and all the teachers around the world for their dedication and enthusiasm as teachers are working hard to raise generations so that they will make this world a better place to live.

Lastly, as the weather is getting warmer and hotter, please make sure that your child brings his/her hat to school regardless of whether they are students of primary or secondary.

As we have started strong this term, we will finish strong too by seeing our students achieving the expected standards.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Adem Engin
Principal
